An in-depth examination of abusive tactics, strangulation, stalking, sexual abuse, and homicide in intimate relationships.

Module 3 – Probation and Parole Supervision of a Domestic Violence Caseload

Case study – from police report to conviction – a deep dive study of a violent offender on probation; tips and tricks of supervising a domestic violence caseload and trauma experienced by the supervising officer.

Module 4 – The effects of Intimate Partner Abuse and How to Support Victims

Understanding dating violence and the psychological effects of abuse - including Stockholm syndrome, trauma bonding and co-dependency. Answering common questions: Why stay in the relationship? Why let the abuser return? What happens if in the reunification process?

Sexual Violence Training Course

Grounded in current best practices, this comprehensive training is designed to equip probation

officers, healthcare professionals, educators, students, and survivors with the knowledge needed to

understand, prevent, and respond to sexual violence in a trauma-informed and survivor-centered

approach.


Participants will explore:

  • Understanding sexual violence: Definitions, dynamics, and myths
  • Sexually violent and abusive offender typology
  • Recognizing warning signs and risk factors
  • Supporting survivors with empathy and appropriate response
  • Bystander intervention and prevention strategies
  • Supervising sex offenders on a probation caseload

Case Management Training

Case Management Training Course

 This 16-hour  CASE MANAGEMENT  training series that  focuses  on intimate partner violence was  developed  *by*  a  probation/parole  officer  *for*  probation/parole officers,  case managers,  professionals who work with victims  and  anyone  interested  in  understanding  the  dynamics  of domestic  violence/abuse  in intimate  partner  relationships.


  • Probation/Parole Officers and DOC Staff will learn effective case management strategies for this specialized caseload.


  • Law Enforcement will learn about the complexities of intimate partner violence and guidelines for identifying the perpetrator.


  • Healthcare Providers, Educators and Community Members will learn how to identify abuse, how to respond to suspected abuse and how to support victims.


Given the complexities of domestic violence, it is HIGHLY recommended attendees complete the entire series.

Trauma and Managing Stress Training Course

Human service professionals are often exposed to individuals who have experienced trauma –

and many professionals have experienced their own trauma. Over time, repeated exposure to

traumatic situations can have a profound affect on mental health, often times changing how a

person views the world, and their sense of safety.


Managing traumatic stress training equips individuals with the knowledge and skills to recognize,

respond to and recover from the psychological impact of traumatic events. This training

emphasizes early intervention, resilience-building and healthy coping strategies to reduce the risk

of long-term emotional and physical consequences.

Verbal De-escalation Training

Verbal De-escalation Training Course

Effective communication is critical when working with individuals in high-stress or high-risk situations. This

training equips your staff with the skills needed to safely and confidently de-escalate tense interactions

using verbal strategies.


When working with clients, the goal is to reduce the risk of harm, build rapport, and promote respectful

relationships – all while maintaining the safety of involved parties. Participants will learn how to recognize

early signs of agitation, apply calm and intentional communication techniques, and maintain control.


Training topics include:

  • Understanding emotional and behavioral triggers
  • Techniques for staying calm and controlling tone
  • Active listening and empathy-based communication
  • Setting boundaries and giving clear, respectful directives
  • Responding to resistance, threats, or emotional dysregulation
  • De-escalation strategies tailored to individuals with trauma or mental health needs
  • De-escalation scenarios for practice

Coordinated Community Response Training

Coordinated Community Response Information

A Coordinated Community Response is a collaborative, multidisciplinary approach that brings together

local systems and service providers to address domestic violence, sexual violence, and related forms of

abuse. The goal is to create a unified, survivor-centered, and effective response that prioritizes safety,

accountability, and long-term change.

  • Child welfare agencies
  • Mental health and substance use providers
  • Schools and universities
